Mateenbar® manufactures GFRP (glass fibre reinforced polymer) rebar from its facility in North Carolina, USA. Lightweight, non-corrosive, and engineered for a 100-year design life, it's a high-performance alternative to traditional steel reinforcement — technically proven and built for the most demanding infrastructure applications.

But with any material shift in construction, the challenge isn't the product but the conversation around it that needed to show why the technology was aligned the challenges government and asset owners are contending with today.

Challenge

Deliver a brand with a strong back story of technical success. GFRP adoption was accelerating across U.S. infrastructure, and Mateenbar® was moving fast — securing distribution through major retail partners including Home Depot and Lowe's, alongside professional infrastructure channels.

They needed a brand and content presence that could keep pace.

Understand the market, then educate to build trust and credibility. The goal was straightforward: educate, build trust, and earn credibility with a technically sophisticated audience. Engineers, contractors, and DOT leaders don't respond to marketing language — they want facts, data, and proof. But the company's story and the behind behind the product, carried weight too.

Action

Brand development and marketing materials. Working closely with the Mateenbar® team, I helped develop brand collateral built to inform and inspire — giving their audience a reason to look beyond traditional materials. Every piece of copy was held to the same technical standard as the peer-reviewed literature their audience already reads. That included technical data brochures, trade show visuals, and advertising materials.

LinkedIn strategy. I led the LinkedIn strategy across key individuals and the company page using education, real project content, and the kind of stories that actually resonate with the engineering community – because everyone responds to a good story. The approach balanced technical depth with accessibility: content written for the discerning engineer doing product due diligence and the contractor exploring options for future projects alike. I developed content pillars that drove consideration, showed the 'why', and showed the people behind the brand to build the story — positioning Mateenbar® as the trusted voice in its category.

Results

A brand match fit for the North American market. Branding success always starts with understanding the market. This one was a mix of government, engineers, and retail contractors and DIYers through Home Depot. Each required a different approach, but by keeping the overriding selling points (technical credibility and brand visibility) consistent, we created an easily scalable brand for a business that is already gaining traction across the US.

  • Brand voice, guidelines, and marketing assets delivered and actively used by the team, retail store partners, and other key stakeholders.

  • All content aligned to each target segment (engineers, contractors, asset owners, and DOT leaders), supporting continued pipeline growth across the residential and construction sector (through Home Depot and Lowe’s Home Stores) and large-scale infrastructure opportunities with government bodies.

LinkedIn was a key driver in stakeholder and customer engagement. LinkedIn strategy was based around activating the company brand, ensure all customer-facing staff’s Linkedin accounts were Mateenbar® branded and we activated the Personal Brand of the in-house subject matter expert.

  • LinkedIn company audience grew organically from 500 to 4,000+ followers in six months with target market growing.

  • Personal brand activation for the in-house subject matter expert continues to grow brand recognition.
